革命の予兆としてのパラダイムの確変が起こっている。大阪のダブル選挙が日本の常識を覆した。日本の全ての政党を相手に橋下氏の野望が民の心を捉えたのである。予測を超えた橋下氏の圧勝に世界のメディアも日本の目覚めとして注目している。
橋下氏の言動は、「独裁者」とも非難されるように日本に馴染まぬ違和感を覚える層もある。同時に閉塞感漂う日本の空気を一新する待ちに待った「希望ののろし」として歓迎する層もある。
革命とは権力構造や社会的構造が短期間に遂行されることである。戦後の政治体質と新しい変革を求める政治の二つの勢力が拮抗しているのが今までの日本の現状であった。今回の「大阪維新の会」の勝利で、大阪から日本を変革するパワーが生まれたのではないだろうか。
ぼくは、この大阪のパワーこそ真の日本の将来のあるべき理想像だと思う。何故かというと、敗戦後の日本は、マッカーサーをはじめとする米国の戦略により日本人の特性が生かされないシステムにより縛られてきたからであり、それが大きく変化しようとしているからである。では、世界でも稀なる日本の特性と欧米の特性の違いとは何なのであろうか。
ヒントは、スティーブ・ジョブズ氏の考え方・生き方にある。ジョブズの自叙伝から一部引用する。「西洋の合理的思考は人間が生まれながらに持っているものではなく習得するものである。東洋には、直感や洞察を重視する仏教の教えがある。論理的分析よりも直感的な理解や意識の方が重要だと思う」。アップルの成功は、ジョブズ氏の禅の思想にあるのである。
戦前の日本の教育、いや6世紀半ばに仏教と儒教が大陸から伝来し、400年の貴族社会を経て、武士道を重んじる武家国家による教育が日本の奔流の教育である。敗戦まで日本の教育のバックボーンは、仏教、儒教、武士道、神道であった。戦後、我々がずっと信奉してきた西洋の合理的思考を基本とする教育は、日本の本来の教育と大きく異なっていたのである。
日本人に馴染まぬ論理的な教育を受け、優秀な成績を修めた官僚や政治家が日本の舵取りを戦後担ってきた。彼らの特徴は、明確なビジョンがないことと、独自の言葉で語らず文章を読むことである。翻って、橋下氏の言行は、日本の特性、すなわち感情豊かな知的直感に満ち溢れたところに魅力があると考えられる。
海外で長く住み異文化の交流に接してきて習得したことは、その民族特有の優れたオリジナリティーが不十分では相手に尊敬されないということである。加えて、相手の優れたところも習得するという柔軟な姿勢が必要であると考える。従って、今日の日本に求められている大切なことは、ジョブズ氏も述べている西洋の論理的思考方法よりも直感的な東洋の思考方法に重きを置くということだと考える。論理的思考は、集中して勉強すれば身に付く。しかし、直感力は、人間の内から湧き出るメッセージを素直に生かすことで磨きがかかるという本質的なものである。
戦後の日本という国は、米国の傘の下で急激な経済発展を成し遂げたが、平成時代に入り、その反動の嵐に見舞われている。いよいよ、その流れを変革する時が到来したようである。想えば、米国のコンピュータ産業に革命的なイノベーションをもたらしたジョブズ氏と大阪から革命を起こそうとしている橋下氏は、何か不思議な共通点があるように思われる。
それは、知的直感で行動するという日本の本来のあり方であるように思う。西洋の理論的思考と東洋の知的直感の両翼を活かす。ジョブズ氏から学ぶことは多いし、日本的であることが真の革命を導くと思う。世界はアジアの時代を迎えようとしている。知的直感に基づく新しいリベラルアーツがより明確なビジョンを構築し、明治維新以来の革命が2010年代に到来すると予測する。
