地震ベルト地帯が集中する日本は、原発事故が再発する可能性が高い。よって、原発反対である。また、福島原発の事故直後に被害の深刻さを訴え、最悪の事態に対応すべきだと主張した欧米のメディアは、多くの日本のメディアより真実を報道したと考えられる。イメージ図
現在、日本のメディアは、市場に出回っている福島産の牛肉が放射能汚染されているという理由で出荷停止を伝えている。政府の発表を伝えるのは、メディアの役割である。しかし、放射能汚染や内部被爆は、どの程度のスケールで危険であるのか、いささか疑問である。
というのは、冷静に考えてみると、原発事故最悪のレベル7のレッテルを貼られた福島原発事故で命を落とした犠牲者は、知る限りではゼロである。例えは、極端であるが、アフリカの開発援助の仕事に従事した時、マラリアの予防のためにクロロキンを服用した。半年以上服用することにより、人体に悪影響を及ぼすということで、服用を辞めることで、マラニアにかかった。振り返れば、かなり過酷な状況の中で、アフリカの開発援助を行ない、人体に悪影響を及ぼすリスクは極めて高かった。明らかに、放射能よりリスクは高かった。
放射能は目に見えないし臭いもなく、放射能の探知機を使用しても人体に悪影響を及ぼす正確な数値を把握することは容易でない。また、チェルノブイリ等の事故例は存在するものの、放射能のリスクはまだまだ未知数である。
再度強調しておくが、筆者は、原発反対である。しかし、福島周辺の農林水産関連の風評被害が拡大する状況の中で、他の要因で命を落とす比較において、放射能汚染の危険値を考察することも重要であろう。例えば、年間、3万人以上の自殺者があり、3・11以降、急激に増加している。
放射能汚染された農産物は、人体に悪影響を及ぼす量に達してなくても放射能汚染アレルギーにより消費者から敬遠されている。恐らく、牛肉だけに終わらず他の畜産や農産物にも風評が広がり、安心、安全とされた国産の農産物から海外産の農産物へのシフトが円高の影響もあり進むように考えられる。
異常なまでの放射能アレルギーが蔓延する中、自然界にある放射能は、身体に良い。という論調もされてはいいのではないだろうか。鳥取県の三朝温泉に何度も訪れた。三朝温泉は、ラジウム、ラドンの世界有数の放射能温泉であり、何百年と療養温泉として栄えてきた。事実、三朝の湯につかれば、肌も生き生きするし、身体に良いことは確かである。
専門家でないので、自然界に存在する放射能と原発の放射能の違いは、分からないが、放射能を完全に悪だと決めてしまうのも問題があるように思う。人体には免疫があり、場合によっては、放射能が人体にプラスに働く可能性もあるのではないだろうか。
恐らく、このような論調は皆無であると思われるが、目にも見えなく臭いもなく、人類史上最悪の原発事故だと言われる福島原発事故で人命が失われてない、いや風評の割に現実的な被害が見えない事実を冷静に観察するという多角的視点も必要だと考えられる。
政府は、福島の農産物は大丈夫だとのパフォーマンスを披露したのは最近のことである。
にもかかわらず、稲わらからセシンム汚染された牛肉の問題により福島産の農産物の風評を広めている。振り子が極端から極端に振れるという日本の特徴が顕著な状況の中で、あえて、自然界における放射能の効用も伝えたく思う。
